An open letter to Actor Vishal from a mother
I want to tell you something serious , Vishal Kuttee...
Before telling that, receive my loves and hugs, please... I have came to know that you are on your hunger strike for the stray dog's life , and I appreciate it too...
Me too, have three dogs at my home- Moti, Appu, and Joodi as you have August at your home. I am very happy to tell you that these dogs are my best pets among my other domestic animals like cats, goats, cows and Hens. ( read more about them : 1 Play Ground , 2.Mom Moti)

See, I am milk maid and an agriculturist. I live in a home which situated at the centre of some paddy fields. I am a widow, and have no white or blue -collar job. But all these pets helped me to earn money to look after my three children with pride. Also these dogs saved my life a lot of of time! See this photo that my Moti killed a snake when I was walking along my vegetable garden! That snake hissed at me and I was afraid of even to run back. But, my Moti jumped on it and killed. This incident is an example.
My children grown up and are working men/woman now. When they go to office in the morning, I become alone at home. Then Moti take security- in-charge of our home! She look after our hens and goats from fox, snakes and wild cats.
Do you know, we do not have a cage to close them in it. We do not lock them in chains too. They are free. I love them that much!
18 January 2015 was a special day for me. My daughter Jisha's marriage was held at that date. Actually those days might be happy, but we were in a fear of death by Rabies. Our little dog Appu bit me and my son Jinto.
Appu bitten by some stray dogs.( There are a lot of stray dogs) But we did not know that. Appu is a brilliant , bright and lovable cute puppy. When appu bit me two times, my younger son noticed the cruelty in Appu's eyes. His barks were so satanic .
Then we called a doctor. After the consultation doctor said, there are some symptoms as Appu infected by Rabies. Doctor said to observe Appu. The second day of this incident, Appu died.
We took his dead body to hospital and made an autopsy. Doctor confirmed that Appu was infected by rabies. ( So, by that time only, we could understand Appu bitten by stray dogs before 10 days at least). And the doctor warned me and my son to take rabies vaccine as soon as possible.
Yes, we took all those injections duly ! But, we had a fear that Appu's mom- Moti, cat - Blacky, all the hens and goats bitten by Appu. By God's Grace there is no symptoms yet!
When I read news papers I feel sad. I read a lot of stray dog attacks. I will give you three news ( there are a lot of news in this regard) 1. A 10 month old infant named Ebin bitten off his hand by a stray dog at Kollam on May 1, 2015.
2. A stray dog snatched by bitten, a one month old infant girl named Rajalakshmi from her cradle I love this baby too..
3. Baby boy Krishnas ( age :2) face teared by a stray dog.
( Some other news are available here )
I love my dogs. And I love all other animals. I love these babies too. ( Dont you love babies?) But I am afraid of these stray dogs, seriously.
what we can do to stop these attacks?? I don't know the remedy. somebody says rabid dogs do not bark. But, let me say the rabid dog barks and bite. ( my Appu did)
I heard you started your hunger strike against the killing (in Kerala) of dogs . Did you got any proof that Kerala started to culling these dogs?
Yes, Kerala people including Dog bite victims request government for selective culling, sterilisation of stray dogs, rehabilitation and birth control measures.
Note : 1.There are nearly 2.68 lakh, street dogs in Kerala and over 1.6 lakh dog bite cases mainly of women and children are reported in the state annually.
2. Local bodies will step up combing operations to identify dogs that could benefit from birth control and to kill the particularly troublesome ones, it was decided at an all party meeting convened by chief minister Oommen Chandy.( News)
Do you think all the people travel in cars here? No No No. A large number of students go school by walking. We wish our infants have the right to play in front of their home. We wish to work without the fear of dog menace.
Do you have any other suggestions to save people? If yes, please tell it loudly. We are very happy to accept it. We too, do not wish to kill any animal.
I won't tell you to stop your strike, but I request you to say an Idea to save our children!

my kids |
After a long time, I came back to blogging again. I was quiet busy with the agriculture life.
Almost all the minute parts of my brocken finger covered with flesh. ( read: Transplanter ate my Finger! ) Because of the wound , I had to take rest for months .
Once I came back to my blog last month, but I forgot its password. Now, my daughter helped to retrieve it. Thanks to her.
Sadly , my hens and roosters died. I could not find out any reason for the sudden death. Also my children thrown all the puppies from home ( read : Mom Moti )
Now , I am waiting for my cow- Manikkutti- to deliver her baby. She already covered her days but still not performed delivery. Please pray for her.
I have to talk you a lot.
Just wait for someday!

Misty Mornings!
I love the smell of Areca nut flowers!
It's very magical when the smell mix in the mist!
And I love such misty, fragrant mornings!

My father was a business man of Areca nut !
Also he was a climber! All my siblings and I had been working for him to remove its husk in my childhood !
Really, it was happy days.
After the crop had sold, he bought us new dresses.
He showed us cinema in the next days !
On next days he fixes tours to relative's houses or to any pilgrim center!
A few years ago he expired.
I dedicate this article to him, my father , Kuriyappan.
I miss those days! _______________________________________________________
Some pictures and details of Areca Nut

Areaca nut, the seed taken out from Areca palm, is a major ingredient in gutkha industry in the country. It is also used widely in religious and cultural ceremonies. Veterinary medicine is another area of arecanut usage.
Broadly two varieties of arecanut are popular amongst consumers—red supari and white supari. Red variety is prepared from not fully matured green arecanut after boiling and removal of its husk. White supari is made from fully ripened arecanut through 40-50 day sun drying.
The arecanut palms grow under a variety of climatic and soil conditions. It grows well from almost sea level up to an altitude of 1000 m in areas of abundant and well-distributed rainfall or under irrigated conditions. It is grown in a variety of soils such as laterites, red loams and alluvial.
India is the leading producer of areacanut in the world with 53 percent share of global output. Indonesia, Bangladesh, China, Myanmar and Thailand are the other producers of arecanut. China is credited with the highest productivity of over 3 ton per hectare while India is the fourth with 1.18 tons per hectare.
In India, arecanut is mainly grown in the states of Kerala, Karnataka and Assam. The first two states account for 70 percent of the Indian production. The total area under arecanut in the country is estimated to be around 372,000 hectares and total production is 340,000 tons.
